Our History in Vancouver
A & B Radiator & Speedometer opened its doors in 1972 to give Vancouver-area drivers a straightforward alternative to dealership repair counters. What started as a focused speedometer and radiator shop grew to cover the full range of automotive repair needs as customers kept coming back and referring their neighbors. Over the decades, the shop's service area expanded to include Camas, Washougal, Battle Ground, and Salmon Creek, following the same customers as their families and cars grew with them. The shop still operates from the same honest, no-pressure approach it started with over 54 years ago.
OUR GOAL
Our founder started A & B Radiator & Speedometer because too many drivers were getting talked into repairs they didn't need. Having spent years working on speedometers, radiators, and engines across the Pacific Northwest, he wanted a shop where customers got a plain explanation of what was actually wrong with their vehicle — and what it would reasonably cost to fix it. That philosophy shaped every hire and every policy at the shop since, even as the service list grew well beyond the original specialty. More than five decades later, the same commitment to honest, straightforward work still guides how the team talks to customers today.
